16x9 Alloys

I have a set of Lenso BSX alloys they are 16x9 all round with an offset of 20. They fit perfectly fine on the rear with no issues but at the front they foul on the calipers.

To stop them from doing this I put 15mm spacers on and now they are fine no rubbing issues, but the wheels stick out a bit too much for my liking. So the question is what else could I do to bring them back in a little(maybe have them machined?).

What offset is usually good for running 9" wheels at the front?

Cant you get away with using a smaller spacer?

Ermmm well that's what I wanted to find out. When I tried them on first I had 9.5mm spacers and they rubbed, that's why I went for 15mm spacers.

I thought that by finding out what offset is best for the front I can then work out what spacers I need or how much could be machined away.

I called a company in chelmsford called TT Tools that was recommended to me and they specialise in alloy wheel machining. They told me that they can reduce or increase offset.

But I need to know what offset will work upfront.

I am thinking of putting some 9's on the back of mine, what tryes are you running if you dont mind me asking?

To alter offset by machining, they'll either be bringing them closer to catching (meaning you'll need a bigger spacer), or adding material - effectively a spacer in itself. It won't achieve anything that you can't achieve with a spacer that's somewhere between 9.5mm and 15mm.
Do they really look vastly different now to how they looked with the 9.5mm spacer? Obviously any spacer will have to be bigger than that & the look will be somewhere between...

The only way you'll achieve more than the couple of mm potentially achievable with a different spacer, is to remove material from the caliper or the wheel where it touches the caliper.
