Do all 318iS cars have a catalytic converter?

Mine has no Lambda probe .... does this mean I have no cat?

ETK implies that all iS have a cat.

Mine has no cat. It's an '89 on a G plate... (or at least it was before it became a track day slag!)

As Dom says, it was an option on all E30's after 88, ony cars registered after Aug 1992 (K plate) legally require one.

Just had a look at the ETK and it shows 2 types of centre section, cat prepared and non cat.

Doms (my old one) had the cat, but i had it removed.
318iS became MR2 Turbo became FTO GPX Mivec became Impreza became Rover 620Ti became Honda S2000 (current) became Fiesta 1.25 and 200SX Drift Slag (when the Honda has gone)

Andy - another easy way to check. Go to BMW dealer with the last 7 digits of your VIN number and get an original spec list print out. This will tell you whether the car was originally supplied with a cat or not.
