Went snowboarding this week, flew into Munich and drove to Alps from there so a stop off at the new BMW Museum & BMW Welt was a must and I have to say, it's pretty awesome. Tons of pics - enjoy.

Image

Right at the entrance they had this E30 Motorsport Cab - fans can exhibit their cars here each month. Why they let a urine headlamped molested turkmobile in at the FRONT of the BMW World HQ is beyond me.

Image

Early aero engine room.
Image

Motorsport engine room! F1 and other engines here.
Image

Image

Nice manifold.
Image
Image

Check out the flywheel on all these things...
Image

Very old 4.
Image

Another early engine but with tons of Carbonfiber and a stunning exhaust.
Image

This isn't the LeMans McLaren F1 motor is it? The machined bulkhead was seriously impressive.
Image
Image
Image

Motorsport tweaked V8 from the current E90 M3.
Image
Image

More S52 M-Goodness.
Image
Image
Image
Image

1.5 Liter 1500BHP F1 Motor. Those numbers are insane.
Image
Image
Image

The clutch on that thing was tiny.
Image

This beauty had it's own room.
Image
Image
Image

Literally stacks of old 6s & 7s”¦!
Image

The 3-Series room! A 3-Series from each era but not the greatest variants of each model to be fair.
Image

This Laser Blue Touring was there though, an iX from the side skirts. 'Probably' rust free.
Image
Image

Original clay scale styling model of the E30 - looks like a facelift.
Image
Image

Cool rear model badge display.
Image

Modern passenger car engines. All the zone faces are here! No M42 tho - too rare to squander on a silly exhibition...
Image

Boat anchor.
Image

M42's cheaper cousin.
Image

And this relic looks familair!
Image

Onto Zs and classics - This is one of my all time fave cars.
Image
Image
Image

Cool.
Image

Concept that led to the M1.
Image

Cabrio 8-Series - never released because of the economic crash. Didn't stop them making the X6 & X6M cars last year tho did it...
Image

Motorsport room.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

And a video walk around - Fullscreen it it's HD!

M-Room!
Image

Engines first.
Image

Viedo - The first engine I don't recognise but it's one of the prettiest / nicely made. Fullscreen it it's HD!

M-Cars.
Image
Image
Image

Image

This ones quite rapid apparently.
Image

This is a serious bit of kit.
Image
Image

Last but not least - seriously minty.
Image
Image
Image
Image

There was tons more stuff, worth a trip. Loads more pics but this is the best of the stuff.

I was more shocked there was no 318iS. I asked the tour guide chick why it wasn't there and they said the board couldn't sanction the cost of displaying such a rare and special car - even for BMWs own museum.

What about that dodgy E30 Cabrio in the front of the whole building!

wrong again, thats a 3.0 V10 F1 engine, circa 900bhp

the 1.5 engines that made 1500bhp were M10's used in the 80's as driven by Nelson Piquet

that very car is in the museum just before the motorsport room on your left

anyway, nice enough pics.

Did you go to the M1 restaurant at the top or to BMW welt ?

I guess there's always one cock that has to spoil the good will. Did you see your 'engine'' in the marine engineering room lol.

Regards the V8 - I bet it spawned the E90 V8.

I just went on what they roughly look like, I could also have easily memorised the plaque resting beside each engine but I'm not that much of a loser... cough... enthusiast.

Come come Ratch, it's all in jest, you should know that. :D

Yes, I spotted the most reliable engine ever in your pics.

My engines are there

Why does the fact i know what im looking at make me a cock ? It's not memorised, its knowledge.

As for the V8's, they have nothing in common apart from the fact they are V8's

Always up on your high horse and can never admit you got it wrong, you are actually ignorant or blind if you missed the info and year info on the engines.

It's not memorised it's knowledge? Can you not see how stupid that line is?

Kok, You are all geek, no spanner.

This thread was just about sharing some pix. not an opportunity for you to willy wave. I'm sure PacerPete or anyone else could have corrected me but they're just not that bothered.

You however, are always bothered.

And all knowledge come from learning and remembering, so memorised.

You'd be the first to jump on my back if it got some thing wrong. You're stupid for getting all that wrong when it's easy to remember simple details if you have a bit of intelligence

A good thread with Ok pictures spoilt by miss information and an OP who's not able to admit he got it wrong

Both wrong, its based on an M54 whatever is Motorsport designation is, P54 by the looks of things.

Twin vanos means it would have to be either an M52tu or an M54.

The fact that is says P54 in one of the pics would be fair to say its the latter.

EDIT: And the alloy block is a big giveaway.
