Is it true that these use an M20 cambelt to operate the door mechanism?

There is a "cam Belt", or toothed belt, used in the door/window mech, different part number from the M20 belt !

They aren't, but some of their (registered taste-blind) owners are convinced the Z1 is some sort of ultimate classic and will be worth a fortune as soon as the rest of the world wakes up and realises its mistake.Alex wrote:why are these z1's worth so much, i dont see the fascination
I'm sure the price of a nice E30 M3 grinds their gears

I would actually have one of these. I really like them.
However, not that one. As above, he's obviously on a substance unknown to any other individul which has made him completely f*ck up a nice car!

It is a replica because he says it's a replica!!! First line!mattrs wrote:Wtf? Why is it a replica? Why so expensive?
It's expensive because the real one cost 120kDM when new, so he is chancing his arm that someone will buy as they are rare as a car and rearer as an alpina 66 built, most sold in Japan - so at least his Japan import does ring true.
Personally I would own one but not enjoy one, despite not liking them they are gaining in value thus a good long term investment, much like M3's now - but their lack of performance and practicality will always see them 2nd to M3 as an investors car

For 32k I'd want at least one decent photo of the interior.
I quite like the Z1, it's quirky and rare. An S50 powered one would be very interesting.
