Hello guys

I have tried to find out the size of the bleed nipples for my m3 brake calipers front and rear as they are having a full refurb but i have only come across 1/8 inch NPT which is in xworks's rebuild thread.

Does anyone know if this is the correct terminology and where i can get these online other than bmw, I Have tried ebay and google but i am not getting any luck finding them are they known as another name/type? Surely it is a common type nipple on all E30's?

Cheers for any replies

1/8 inch NPT refers to the thread of the nipple.

Guys i got in touch with xworks on this forum.

Turns out that the bleed nipples are M7 x 1.0 which is a common type nipple.

Thought i would update this here incase anyone else is going to do any brake work on thier cars.

Cheers for the help all

NPT is a taper thread, for the brake line fittings.

I've had trouble with bleed nipples in the past, WD40 before hand and let soak as long as possible. Be sure to use a ring spanner and to take care with the spanner, they are annoyingly easy to break!!

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

I always remove the nipple completely and refit it with a tiny bit of copperslip on the thread to help prevent seizure later on.
