So trundled up to see a car this morning which was described as a little rough around the edges, so I figured Im after an M3 and Im likely to respray it anyhow so might get a bargain.

Turned up and this is what I found :D

And yes, "project" worthy

Well it was up for 10.5, so I'll guess at a cheeky bid of 9k cash for a quick sale?

Welcome to the club! :D
cheers,

Well... The s14 will come out for an eventual rebuild (winter maybe) considering then having the car media blasted and starting fresh with a possible white respray.

And I do have an s62 which has been waiting to be adopted, so that will almost certainly find its way in there :D

I will keep the s14 in order to preserve originality for the future should I decide to sell, Very unlikely to sell this but never say never. But the lack of torque makes these cars extremely tame, I need more grunt

This is what i will potentially aim for I think

Looks a good base Adam.

Are you planning on driving it around for a bit, or is it going straight into the workshop?

Would love to see it up the hill before you start

why would the temp gauge be stuck at max heat ? rev gauge bounces around sometimes too.

Any Ideas?

No, as soon as the key is turned is straight up to max.

Could this be a "nut on the back of the cluster" issue?

Not in the slightest.

They were optional on normal E30 M3's.

I would check the nuts it's possible but with a bouncy rev counter it's likely the SI board, temp on full could be the sender on the rad , does the electric fan cut in ?
