Hi there guys,

I am in need of some info on the ignition for a 2.7 M20 as found in the e28 525e with the lower rpm crank. I need to know what sort of advance the ignition runs (as it shoudl be MUCh less than a normal engien at a guess) and some information about why and how exactly it differs from the 2.5 M20 engines which rev normally, for a uni lab report as I am making reference to it as BMW are one of the only manufacturers to employ this kind of petrol technology for economy.

Any help is much apreciated - thanks, jonmsm

it has smaller bore intake for good torque, smallish valves for the capacity also a very tame camshaft spec.

its a high comp unit combined with all the above and a long stroke to give excellent low end torque, and thus good economy

Dont know what else to add TBH dude.
