Yeah 9j all round. I'll have to trial fit the fronts tomorrow and see how far out they are
What size should the bolts be. M12 or m14?

I just popped a wheel on the front and i think it clears the strut and break callipers - just! I havn't got tyres on the wheels yet so the car was still jacked up, not sure if that makes much difference.
I did find the old bbs bolts were too long though and when fully tightened seaze the wheel. does that sound about right? they look about 1.5 long so maybe i need shorter ones.

Think a 3mm spacer up front is enough to clear the calliper.
Locking botls I got (from RAD) are M12x1.5 26mm long
I'm considering running 2 sets of different locking bolts, over kill?

Cheers, ive ordered some cheap spacers off ebay.
nah I don't think 2 sets are over kill considering what these wheels cost!
One last question, Jozi you're running 225/40 right? What about you e30_aza.... 215 or 225??

I have 225/40 and 215/40 on the wheels, not sure what I'll run with yet. I've had a thread up about what tires to run with and there seems to be no right or wrong. 205/45 is very close in rolling diameter to a 15" bbs with 205/50 (205/55 is stock though). Have a play with the calculator here: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.aspkman82 wrote:Cheers, ive ordered some cheap spacers off ebay.

225/40 won't really fit without some arch work.
Ah man!! this tyre size business is doing my head now....
I've got Eibach pro kit 35mm drop all round and 205/55 R15 BBS on the rears and they look the perfect size for my wheel arches.
On the front I have 195/55 R15 BBS and they look too small. The last thing i want to do is to put a smaller rolling radius on and the wheels get lost in the arches.
Have you lot got yours dropped more than 35mm at the front?
I went to my local tyre garage today to see if they had any 225/40 lying around I could test fit but they said they dont come across them that often. Would it rub the arches all the time or just if I had a couple of fat mates in the back?
A good size that would work well is 215/45 but the selection of tyres is pretty naff

......Also, Jozi that website is pretty handy cheers. Have you got a link to your tyre thread? I couldn't find it with the search
It's over on E30owners.
My head was wrecked as well with this tyre business!
215/45 are not as common and quite expensive!
This is 215/40 from what I remember:

I think this is smaller again, maybe 205/40?

215/45:

If you want I can drop a 225/40 wheel onto the car and see how it fits if I dial the camber out completely and what it's like somewhere in the middle? I haven't marked the original position so I can't say whats it's exactly like with the camber adjusted around the middle.
I'm thinking of either going 205/45 or 215/40 once I burn of the tires I have on the wheels now

fronts will need a 5mm spacer that is correct, and I ran 215/40 16's all round on 9j's at an ET15 and at 60mm lower with the rear arches rolled there was no rubbing..

Toyo's seem to stretch nicely, as in the stretch isn't excessive looking. This site might be of some help also: http://www.tyrestretch.com in deciding how much of a stretch you want.
T1R's are also meant to be a very good tire

Really useful info here, thanks.
The 205/45 Looks a little too much stretch for me. It's looking like the 215/40 IF the 225/40 wont fit which i dont think it will.
Brendan that would be wicked if you could set that up but dont go to too much bother mate.
My cab has got facelift rear arches if that makes any difference at all.

I can vouch for the toyo t1r's mate. I've got them in 215 40 16 on my 9j rears, lowered 60mm, et15 and rolled arches but I do get a bit of contact under hard acceleration and with heads in the back. The tyres are great though, stretch real nice and the grip from these things considering how much they cost is phenomenal no doubt!

yeah it'll definately be the Toyos T1r's, I like the tread pattern.
Just found a site selling 215/40's for £278 delivered, not bad hey?

Where is that from? Have you tried www.camskill.co.uk ?
yep that's the one, going to order beginning of next week
Let us know how you get on and pics please! It might make me decide what to go for!
Any luck with tires?
Found this earlier: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthr ... 81&page=22 few more pics the page before it, has iX arches though which might not give a good pic of what it looks like on a e30.

Am I right in thinking they're 205 45's? I think they look a bit too stretched for me. Nice looking motor that though and the same colour as mine I think.
I ordered and had delivered the 215 40 toyo t1rs and took them over to lepsoms in Swindon on wednesday to have the wheels diamond cut and the tyres put on. Should get them back end of next week so will get some pics up ASAP!
They said they couldn't do the centre caps though so think I'm gonna buy some new ones
Almost there! Only taken me 3 months!

3months is not that long, I have mine sitting in a room for a year and a half
