Nick, i think you mean Dive Planes?
I have always looked in to these but they look too race for my application, how ever i did look at them for reduced drag not for anything else.
So do they work?

We have one with Total BMW magazine for a trial fitting on there Trackday/Sprint car, so ready very soon.

What are the chances of an E30 full carbon roof skin?

Bloody hell they're pricey!Demlotcrew wrote:Nick, i think you mean Dive Planes?

How cool is that
I was really refering to the black and white E30's with the front air dam mods.

I do like that spoiler kit. Those little winglet plane things are just way too expensive for what they are. I saw some for £189.99!

I bought a used pair for £40 and even that's not what I would call good value!

I do love Brands. I find it pretty technical for such a short circuit. I love Mallory too. Hope to make Spa next year. I drove it once when I was a gopher for a formula Opel team but it was in an Austin Montego countryman!
Can you post a linky for the planes please?

Collected Evo rear spoiler & tray/splitter from Martin this morning. Very happy with quality & price.
Also discovered the splitter won't fit inside an M3. Doh!

Does anyone know where i could source a full carbon or fibreglass roof. I've ripped out the sunroof on my 318is but the roof has some rust issues and bmw doesn't do roof skins anymore!
Been looking everywhere for options but no joy so far.

any chance of some fibreglass roofs?
there was a company in the uk who had just started producing them but unfortunately before i could buy one they went bust!
once the sunroof is removed i find the roof skin to be too thin and 'flappy' and would rather cut out and replace with a gloss black fibreglass replacement

there was a company called performance trim in the uk that was doing them but have gone bust in the last few months. I haven't been able to find anyone else doing them either!
Picked up spoiler, splitter, bonnet from Martin a couple of weeks back. Happy with quality and fit and well priced too!
A few snaps of the car now they're fitted along with poly windows. Just the splitter & 4 pot brake conversion to go on and then spray the remaining red bodywork a subtle shade of bright orange. Oh, and new screen.
Sorry for rubbish photos but you get the idea. Everythings a bit dusty because the spray shop is nearby. ;)

These 16'' rims are just road/winter rims rather than waste 888's.

Finished my track car today and thought I'd post a few pics of the results. Many thanks to Martin for supplying the fiberglass panels & spoilers. Just waiting on an Mtec2 front before the splitter goes on. Am very happy with the results.

I need some help with fitting this splitter and wondered if anyone can advise me, with what mods they've made and how they've bolted it up?Tom944 wrote:This looks interesting, where can I find more about this?TRACKM3 wrote:rix313 wrote:There are some very good prices to be had on both bonnets and boot lids: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=198644
I've fitted the slightly wider Mtec2 front bumper but I don't want to start chopping the splitter around until I know exactly what's needed to make it fit?

I hope to be fitting one soon also, Ive been thinking about how to mount it as it will need to support a downforce of 60-70kg at speed, really needs to be anchored to something more than just the FG techII lower valance at the front.
Im going to work on a way of doing this, but also being able to remove the splitter quickly to access the underside of the car.
Keeping weight down to a minimum is a must.
Looking forward to what others come up with.

Hello, may i ask a few questions about the boot.Hoobs wrote:pics.
How much lighter is it than the standard e30 boot?
Will it mount in all the same locations as a stock e30 boot will, and is it possible to use the stock lock with the boot?
Thank you, it looks very nice.
First off, apologies for posting this on this thread. I wasn't paying attention.
It's much lighter than the standard metal panel. It's a kilo or two.
If you check pics you can see captive nuts for original mounts, fittings etc.
These are excellent quality and the only reason I'm not using this one is that I'd got a 2nd one from different place and wasn't going to just back out the deal.
Anyway,
Back on topic, does anyone have any pics of the splitter and how they've mounted it please?

Mark,
Some photos of the flossman fitted to my car.
The flossman is a replica in GRP, the quality is exceptional, its very light and a perfect fit! I figured that for such a sacrificial part (it will get scraped) its perfect function counts more than its looks or material composition. The lip extension is hollow, making it almost as light as the CF version.

Not too happy with the coarse screws holding the CF canard plates, so i will get some nice stainless countersunk ones. But as it is they are very functional and fit perfectly!

Lots more to do still!
