Hi All,
I've spotted this and thought it would be an ideal donor for the e30.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3521902.htm
My plan is to smoke around in it for a while , do a few track days to prove its reliable and then use the engine and break the rest.
What are peoples opinions?
What is it worth?
Can any one give me an approximate breakdown of what bits are worth so I can work out how much the engine / transmission will cost.
Cheers

Its a tidy car, The front vader seats are missing so its sporting matching leather comfort seats, apart from that there are no real issues!!! i have only had it a week but i have done 700 faultless miles in it. 4 months tax and 10 months test. The engine is very quite, dry and pulls very well. I am based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Be a shame to break that coupe if there is nothing major wrong with it.
That red thing is frag material though.

Are they a good buy? as Ive seen a few that look good at reasonable prices. Just worry that most will be wrecks now.e21Jason wrote:Plenty of m3 around at that price, I know some who buys them at that price to brake and still makes money.

Went to see this to day.
The radiator was held on with a ratchet strap, the wind screen was cracked, the drivers window almost fell out due to a broken regulator, the rear arches rubbed ,had some run flats obviously taken from the bmw service bin and combined with coil overs the ride was disgraceful. Considering it also had no tax I offered him £2300.
Do you think this is fair?

All the powertrain parts were pretty good , bar a slight leak from the flexi in the downpipe.
Coilovers are still unknown, they had non adjustible damping but did have adjustible top mounts.

S50 manifold split on the flexi, would need a repair but if its all going in an E30 then it will be cut out anyway.
What condition were the wheels, kit and interior as if good they have a value?

Wheels were good, rears were non genuine as they were very wide, interior was nice with very little bolster wear and the kit was tidy.

£2300 and he didn't suck you off ?
Be warned that the kit is worth very little, my last genuine front bumper complete with fogs made £85
Be sure to jack it up and check for an LSD , mutants like this are often missing key components.
Bearing in mind how many of these are around it really is not worth buying rubbish unless it is peanuts.

It's not even a real M3, surely it's worth peanuts when you can get ropey genuine M3s for 3k upwards?
