This is probably an age old question many ask but I cant seem to locate anything about it.

I have a lhd e30 convertible which has a 3.5 engine in. However like the esteemed e30zoner Lee Parkes I have sourced an Alpina 3.5 lump. I am thinking the ludicrous about buying the M3 parts to try and create a replica Alpina B6 3.5s. I dont think Alpina ever made a convertible version of the b6 but the coupe version of the 3.5s had the M3 body.

To find an M3 shell would be a)next to impossible, b) ludicrously expensive, and c) I would probably want to restore rather than throw in the Alpina engine I have.

So, although the parts may be expensive can anyone advise? As far as I can see I will need front wings, rear quarter panels, front and rear bumpers, and new boot lid. I have contacted BMW heritage in Germany already.

Obviously if I do go down this route I will also need to source Alpina wheels as well.

Any advice welcomed although if you are going to post just to say it is ludicrous and dont bother you will probably just encourage me more to go ahead!

There was a for sale thread a good few weeks back which had a number of M3 panels for sale can't remember the seller name but trawling through the old for sale ads you might find it. From memory they were looking for about £2.5K for all the panels.
