Not much, Im just thinking about selling the cab and getting an m3 but my cab has my sons plate on it. the plate is for a J reg car or newer! Ive always wanted an m3 but I have been scared of the running costs. Now I think fook it what the hell, my zafira costs big bucks to service and thats a vauxhall. So I thought.....I can spend that on an m3!

As has been said, most common late M3's were on G and H plate, I personally have never seen a J plater, but have seen 3 on K plates, I've also seen a Jet Black Sport evo on a 51 plate, it was a dealer show car up until a few years ago until it was registered, at the same time the same dealer had an alpina B12 (E31) which was also reg'd on a 51 plate, soprt evo was up for 32k, and the B12 was up for 56k, not bad considering they were well over 100k when they first appeared!!

Steve, go for it, there's a world of info on the M3 out there, and plenty of suppliers to keep you going, they're easy enough to work on too, no complex 4 wheel drive systems etc.

Drive one first though to see if they're what you think they are.

I have driven one, I was 18 and loving it! The only thing was I felt like I was really close to the side window!!
