£150 for bits off an E34

a guy is going to sell me the usual bits off an E34 525i for the conversion including the inlet manifold with tb. Is it worth it? I have to travel 105 miles to get there...I cant seem to find these bits anywhere...

I take it its just the sump & manifold you need.

Depends how bad you want it, the sump & accessories can fetch ~ £80+ and a bit more than that for the inlet manifold with the throttle body, so £150 could be less than the going rate but if found in a scrappy expect to pay £50 max for the lot.

Hmm the inlet from an E36 I can get for buttons from my scrapyard. Its the E34 bits which are hard to get I haven't seen an E34 there in yonks.

Yeah I know but its petrol and time mate. I wanna be able to see what I'm getting. I don't want to get sent a 2.0 inlet like I've heard in some horror stories.

You can use the sump from other cars it doesnt have to be E34 525i,iirc magpie used one from an E38 728i.

Drive and get the lot, then pick up the local manifold for buttons and sell it on ebay.

Oh really? Its just I've read on here only E34 525i 24v. I'll ask him to e-mail some picture but I don't know if he will post. It'd be a waste of petrol and time to go all the way there if something isn't right though. Its in Warickshire, Stratford-Upon-Avon.
