Alpina E28 on ebay at the mo. I love the retro Alpina-ness and do want an E28 528i...but my budget's been outbid by the first bidder with 7 days remaining! Think I saw it on gumtree a while back too. Anyone know owt about it?

That does look nice, but didn't the B2.8 have a standard engine?

To be fair, the Alpina open-lug wheels, airdam and interior bits are prob worth half the current price.. I'd rather have seen a set of cloth Alpina sports seats with green-blue striping in there!

It's a Sytner built stickers, wheels and spoilers job built out of a standard 528i. Never been near Buchloe and no performance mods as standard.Blitz wrote:That does look nice, but didn't the B2.8 have a standard engine?

Buy a non-stickered 535 instead.

hey Ivan, well known car over on forum5 original buyer tried to pull a fast one on it, bought it fair and offered it at a fortune and got nowhere.
This is a rebuilt car in a different 528, all the bits are there and it is very nice tried to buy it myself a few years back.
Oh, and my Alpina is for sale from the end of this month....

I figured there must be a reason why it is half the price of the proper Irish Alpina on Car & Classics.ANDY325TOURING wrote:hey Ivan, well known car over on forum5 original buyer tried to pull a fast one on it, bought it fair and offered it at a fortune and got nowhere.

No chance, it gets a little attention now and again, but will crack on with it in the spring.
Quite fancy one of those Alpina spoilers,a chap on Ebay knocks em out for around 130, but ive put the Mtec kit on it now, just needs a bigger engine.

There's a guy in California who makes fibreglass reps of Hartge ones and maybe the M5 and Alpinas too. They're supposed to be quite good.
What do we think the Alpina will fetch? £4k-ish?

Tuskers old car. I saw this when it was a standard 528iSE 4 years ago before he bought a rusty Henna red B2.8 to rob the Alpina parts off of. Its a clean car.
As a side note, the B2.8 was based on a standard 528i not the similar priced (when new) 528iSE.

I would love an E28 Alpina B9/B10. I don't like the red NI one though.
