diff bearings

just stripped my 3.64 lsd down to find that the expected pinion bearing had gave up...
going to replace all 4 bearings but just got off the phone to bmw who said the bearings/kits had discontinued a few years back and that no other dealers were showing any old stock. and that for a while after they stopped them you could only get the side races if you buy them attached to the lsd unit for a sum of £800-£1000

well nvm.. im getting them sorted by my local bearing shop anyway but im sure ppl on here have got hold of the kits from bmw not so long ago.

the only thing that does concern me is not being able to get hold of a new collapseable washer on the pinion shaft...

There's a bloke called Gareth I think who rebuilds them for people, it might be worth asking him for some info mate???

They are standard sized bearings not some special BMW bearing so should be fairly easy to get. My small case bearings were ex NATO stock! Just google the sizes and it should come up.
