Don't tell me your car has no cooling fan
The A/C fan from your m3 would do the job just fine!

You should not need anything other than 1 electric fan. Mine never goes above half on the gauge and the fan only runs for about 30 seconds at a time. The fact your radiator is to small wont be helping, has it got a oil cooler fitted then?e30s50b30 wrote:it has just want to run extra cooling .

my fans were standard twin electric cosworth fans. surprisingly enough. quite slim but they wouldnt fit in the gap between your engine and your rad by the looks of it.
does the car feel as fast as when the engine was in the e36? has the wrong manifolds not lost you a lot of power?

Its not the lack of oil cooler that worries me as much as how they have gone about deleting ite30s50b30 wrote:will it blow up with no oil cooler ? not really planning on driving it around till i get it fixed proper

I also want a slim electric fan to fight heat in the summer. It's not the engine I' m worried about. It's the AC.

I am confused. It should have an electric fan anyway.. So pointless adding a 2nd.

Use the twin speed fan from your M3.

Are you saying that your car still has the viscous fan??? The electric fan would sap more power if it was to run constantly anyway.

Right.... so it has an electric fan inbetween the radiator and the grills? Does the fan cut in and out on its own?e30s50b30 wrote:it has a fan that is there not mounted like it was but on the other side now by the grill , not seen that before so been googling that all day !

I use a 16 inch on mine, straight out of a e36 m3. Some people use a 14 inch with no problems.

Yes, but dont buy a cheap new fan off ebay if that's what your thinking. Getting it looked at now will save you a heap of cash in the long run, as they can tell you what you need and where to get it

No, the shroud goes in the bin! you can either make brackets from scratch or buy and modify e30 m3 fan brackets.
