Yes but what mechanic/idiot doesnt change the filter when changing the oil, on an expensive engine too.fuzzy wrote:as youve supplied the engine i expect theyll take no responsibility for it possibly being fooked.

ive been myself there with the shoddy conversion work done by a so called specialist. cost me a couple of £G more to put right.its not so easy to keep regular tabs on things if theyre in a different town far away.id always recommend staying local if possible so you can check up unannounced.

Conversion aside you need to find out why he didnt swap the filter when he changed the oil.

was the work done by a garage or a back street trader?
Let them know you are not happy and explain why and ask what they are going to do first.
If garage contact the local trading standards also speak to a lawyer. the work is of a poor standard.
what happened to the manifolds that were connected to the engine before they started.
Personally I would take a different route, though a peacefull route may suit you better.
By the looks of it they have taken on a job they didn't know how to do correctly.
