Well I've got a new job and it looks like i'm simply not going to have enough time for My E30 project car, so I think that it'll have to fall by the way side!

However rather fortunately my new job includes a Fuel card and a company car allowance. I also get paid the milage for the business miles that I do :D All of this means I can get myself something interesting for commuting and the occasional bit of track action.

I would quite like a BMW of some description. I'm not too bothered about economy as my current car (GTi6) only gets about 30 mpg if I'm lucky! But I will end up doing about 25-30k a year.

Any thought's on the E36/46 M3's and/or any other options

Well, My allwoance is 3.5k but will be about 3k ish after tax. I'd be looking at a 3 year loan. So would happily pay up to 10k for a E46 and expect to put 75,000 on the clock. It'd probably end up as a track car of some description at the end of its tenure!
