Thats quite a rare colour for an interior seats! Think that could work, may as well try it out, nothing to lose.

Got a couple of free hours over the xmas holidays so thought I would get a couple of bits done (no pics, too cold
).
I'm in process of connecting up the radiator, last thing before I can fire it up.
However this looks too close for comfort? It's an aftermarket hose pipe but the same dimensions as the original (near enough lol).

Yes I know it's bright red

The bottom hose bends away as soon as it leaves the stat housing to go over the CPS. Id fook that red hose off.
Is that the hose Driftboy was using?

It's a bendable (is that a word?) hose, flexi type so I can shape it to fit.

Yes I did, cut it down slightly. I think you do have that much room its just under the turbo like mine so it looks very full. Get it running!ImysE30 wrote: Have you used the original bmw hose?

I think I bought 5 litres a while back from Halfords, might go get some more just to be safe.
Is there anything I should look at when starting it for the first time, any hints/tips on what to do/look out for?

Turn the engine over by hand a couple of times then turn the engine over by bridging pins 11 and 14 in the round diagnostic socket to get some oil circulated before you fire it up.

Have a fire extinguisher near by or at least a hose pipe just incase. Once its run a little stop it and check for leaks underneath and check the fluid levels.

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Checking on the floor for leaks is a good idea . Hopefully there won't be any leaks though!
