Here's a few pics of my baby, only had it a few days and I love it, and my missus loves it too, hence the L plates haha.
I don't know if this will turn into a project yet, because I still have this to finish...
I'm sooo tempted to let it have my golf's wheels and give it a slap with the stick

I think its pretty beautiful as it is, and I feel a bit old (not even 25 yet) saying that. Plus its only done 85k and is in very good nick, would it be better off left alone from a value point of view? My golf's wheels are only 15x7 and don't actually have any dish however it kinda looks like they do. I was after some 15" BBS RZs as found on e30s for my golf, so could work out....

If that's the car that featured in Performance BMW a couple of years ago it wasn't paint or paint stripper, he achieved his "rat look" with good old fashioned p*ss !!

Gone, but not forgotten !!

Above post edited and all details of the yank rat are there - so as not to go off topic - my mistake for choosing to post such a strange car.

Those wheels do look OK on an E30.
What are the ones on the Golf called?

They're enzo cups, its a long story but they have sentimental value to me, we're on a mk2 golf I had years ago which I had good times in and my mate bought it, the wheels were left in his garden for years as he changed them, I got them back last year for my mk2 golf GTD and then they went on the cabby.
I plan to remove the tow bar but thats on hold til after new year, I've got the old engine from my cabby to scrap and I'm gonna borrow a trailer from work for that.
Whats shadowline?

I see. I did think about painting the chrome bits satin black, especially the grille, I think these look mean with an all black grille. I wanna fit some rear speakers but I'm not sure how I go about it. I don't want to cut the rear door cards, the rear shelf doesn't have any holes, and the bulkhead underneath doesn't appear to have provisions for speaker fitting, and I don't fancy chopping that. Any ideas on how I can fit some rear speakers that actually look like they should be there?

the rear shelf can accept speakers, don't cut the door cards !
if you choose 6x9's use something like these ,don't cut the metal shelf.

I was hoping to borrow the 6x9s from my golf, but didn't think the space between the bulkhead and shelf was enough. Those spacers could work, but wouldn't they look a bit out of place?
what size speakers will fit without needing spacers?

To fit rear speakers - very rough guide
pull up the rear seat base - it just yanks out from the bottom
two 10mm nuts hold in the seat bank
then pull the seat base upwards to remove it
detach the rear seat belt trims in the shelf
pull the rear shelf upwards (there's a clip holding it down)
then carefully pull the shelf out
turn the shelf upside down and you can see where to cut holes for the speakers
don't get speakers that are too deep as there isn't loads of clearance under the shelf

thanks for the offer mate, but I'm going to refrain from spending unneccessary cash on this as I really want to get my golf running, if I do buy anything it might be lowering springs or a 3 spoke steering wheel, not a fan of the huuuuge 4 spoke one it has. I would love a shiny backbox though
