728 engine question

hi been offered a 728 lump ,do these engines have the retrictive manifolds as per the 328?.the loom is that the same as the 328 and can dan convert one. is there any draw back to useing the 728 sump as opposed to the m50 525 ? sorry for all the questions just wont to get all the bits sorted to do conversion over weekend ,thanks

Same inlet manifold
Exhaust manifolds are different, but useable if you dont mind hours on end cutting/welding
Loom is no good, you need an E36 one
Sump however can stay put

I would rather have a 7 series lump, auto and less likely to have been thrashed, they come with the right sump which would cost you over £100 to find/fit to an E36 lump with new gasket. The ECU/EWS can be used, all you need to find is an E36 loom and engine mounting arms which would cost all in £40-£50
