Hi all, I'm on the last stages of my M50 conversion, i've got an M50 with vanos from a 1994 (L) 525i fitted to my 1988 325i.
The engine turns over freely but does not fire, the fuel pump fails to buzz when the ignition is 1st switched on, i've bridged the relay at 87&30 and the pump buzzes, so i know its not buggered.
While poking around under the dash, i noticed a stray wire near the ecu multi-plug, its a thin brown/grey wire, not sure if it needs connecting any where? I've obviously cut for some reason! :o:
Also, in the loom trunk at the rear of the engine on the bulkhead, there are two thick green wires joined together, there is also a thin singular green wire in the same joint, is this correct?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, getting pee'd off with the whole thing now and just need a secondary view from someone, Thanks

I'll try and sort some pics out, pretty sure i've got the wiring spot on, got to be something simple but a complete cock to find!
Might try a new sensor just to rule that out, you never know, Thanks for the replies

Double checked my wiring and it turns out i had the green/white wires connected up the wrong way, sorted it out and tried again....Still wouldn't fire!
I've left it for another week or so, had another fiddle around and today she fired! :D
Not sure what i've changed/done, but all i would say is double and triple check your wiring and connections.
Sounds great, trouble is lots of work means little play now, typical! One thing after another
