i damaged my oil cooler on my cab and i am replacing it with one i took off a scrappped 325i. Problem being that it is an after market example and iam unsure how to fit it. I have all the coonecting hoses to use it and they are attached to the engine, what i need to know is which hose goes to which hole on the oil cooler and which way up i should install it. It is rectangle in shape and has an outlet on each side semetrcyle to each other(could either be on the top or the bottom as i dont know which way its suppossed to go)
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it never really gets you anywhere

Well the standard coolerhas two(obviously doh) holes at oppisite ends at the bottom, but you must know that if you took the old one off. Do you have any photos to illustrate the problem you are having.

you can fit it either way makes no difference still cools the oil but when you do a oil change and the hoses go in the top it will never drain the cooler and once you start up you will mix the dirty oil in the cooler with the new or you will have to take the cooler off every oil change and risk oil dripping ererywhere.
