Rob Birch from the Stereo MC's, weasel-boy type semi-chav, had a lowered cab with all the tasteless 'council' add-ons you could possibly imagine: silver wheels with spokey-dokeys, neon strips under the the sills, crumby smoked lenses, whitewall tyres, skull valve caps, massive exhaust pipe, blacked out windows, E36 dash etc.

As he couldn't drive he used to stand on the passenger seat throwing his trademark 'I'm on a spacey surfboard' arm gestures as he wafted along to the next show.

Sadly not true, he hated anything German. He did have an E-type though.

That may or may not be true, but this thread is about celebrities with E30s, not 'very big schlongs'. Deviation my friend, you lose five points.

That's ok.

Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode had an M3 that he actually bothered to convert to RHD when he was in the States. DURRRR! What a div! I suppose he was probably spaced out: it was about the time he was drugged up to the max, and I guess he didn't realise they drove on the right there.

Wolfgang 'Taffy' Von Tripps, German Count, Ferrari F1 driver, athlete and pigeon fancier (true) didn't have an E30. Of course he didn't - poor soul died in 1961! But he did nevertheless have a BMW 325 Leichter Einheits-PKW, or the Germans' WW2 Jeep equivalent. The one you see getting blown up all the time on all the WW2 films. He liked it because it was good for pigeon point to point stuff, lots of room for the pigeon baskets and good traction for releasing them from muddy fields in the Rhineland.

He flogged in the fifties when the first G-Wagons came out. It's in the Imperial War Museum now, complete with pigeon baskets, lures and stuff.

Bavarian Axel-F producer and leather trouser fan Harold Faltermayer ran over his mother-in-law in his Labatt's 2.0 M3 ex-BTCC touring car (touring car -not a touring). Accidentally of course, he wasn't used to the dogleg gearbox and thought he was in reverse! She was standing in front of him and he floored it because he was late for a meeting with Pet Shop Boys, for whom he was helping produce the LP Behaviour.

He mashed her right into the garage door! Unbelievably, she was ok, but it shook her up a bit.

What, that I'll never run out of stories!

Mrs McCluskey, frosty old Grange Hill headmistress in the Zammo, Fat Roly days ("That ain't my Mars Bar - honest!"), had an E21 316. If you look closely at the opening credits, you can see a cartoon drawing of it in the staff car park, next to that ar*eh*le Mr Bronson's Vauxhall Firenza droop-snoot, just before the bit where the big sausage comes down on a fork ("Da-da-dad-naaaa!").

In one episode, where old crazy Danny Kendall goes off the rails and keys her E21 up, she moans on to Bronson about the 30 stage paint process and how hard it will be to sort it all out.

Great days.

Martin Lancelot Barre, Brummie guitarist with Marmite rockers Jethro Tull, had a gold 325e that he converted to run on goose fat in 1991. Seriously, there was an article in the Birmingham Post at the time: 'Golden Goose - Barre runs car far on bird star' - terrible headline I know, but the Post ain't The Sun.

He was all a bit Green and saw how various celebs were getting press attention by running their cars on chip fat or lard or HP sauce or jam or urine or whatever, so decided to get in on the action. Since he had a goose farm anyway, he went down that road for the publicity.

He still has it in a barn, with a genuine 1701 seed drill shackled to the tow bar, for shows and stuff.

Vanessa Redgrave used to have a 320 touring in green, so she said.
I was assigned to drive her on location at Chartwell whilst 'The Lonely War' was being shot there. The films name was changed to The Gathering Storm for reasons beyond a 3rd A.D.
Ness (as she demanded everyone call her) was miffed at being driven around in a six wheel drive Gator, the props dept managed to knock up some twin lights for the front and replaced the 'bench' in the back with a cream leather sports seat (it's what she had in hers) alas the bbs's were a no go.
Mad as a bag of frogs she is, but I got away with so so much. she has a 'thing' for red hair.

A film fact. The National Trust wouldn't let EON film inside the house so his study, bedroom and lounge were recreated in oak on the lawn 400 yards from the house.
And the tractor seen at the start of the film ended up costing over £30K of the films budget. It was only on location for 3 days.

The military hovercraft in James Bond 20 (with the Irish bloke) had a 318 cab painted in a camo effect. He brought it down to Aldershot tank training place on the first day of shooting. It blended in so well it was only found when the British Army were putting the latest Challenger (in '04) through its paces.

Whilst carrying out a little resto with the engine out he came up with the idea for a bridge. The rest is history.

But it wasn't hers  Here we all are adding vital infomation pertaining to E30's and their owners and then the page gets hijacked over some squeeky woman in a car which obviously isn't hers. I mean who would let someone else drive their E30? Or can't women drive and sing at the same time winkeye

anyone ever see the out takes to the vid of her singing in a jaquizi (you know what I mean)
I played a Bar in N1 for NYE2000 and this was playing on a 10ft screen behind me. I ended up just a little parra as the night progressed. It wasn't until I left the managers office to get paid that I saw this playing.
It was 'doing the rounds' by a certain mtv editor and not sure if it made the web.

It was artistic but my god it was bordering on flith. wink wink

That looks like a Ford Falcon to me, just going over the Harbour Bridge heading into Sydney. They usually had 4 litre engines, and looked very similar to Granadas, but with a touch of Australian quirkiness.
