The reason I defend the Fiestas when pitched against the metro is because we've had one or two

The wife had an 88 E Crystal blue Mk2 XR2 when we met like this one

That was chopped out for this 90 XR2i:

which in time was chopped out for this. a 93 16v XR2i which was a great car! Probably one of our faves TBH. This was taken on the brecon beacons in about '98. Without doubt, the best colour for one of these, Pacifica Blue:

One I'd bought to sell on. It was a bit of a hound when I got it. Previous front action and fag burn central. It was indeed a GSE. I'll scan some more photos.... wait there.

But seeing that you're such a ford deviant Barry, thought you'd like to see this! Post red line interior xr4i that I sourced for my brother in law Rob who promply ran out of talent in the ice in Stevanage and took a lamp post out side on!!!

Its not a bad thing Trev, we live in a relatively nice part of the world. Kelly had mentioned schooling for ours in the future. I winced!

I learnt to drive in a 205 Junior and was then let loose in my old dears 1.6 GTI , but so many kids at my 6th form where bombing about in metros. I thought they were horrid in most way imgainable.

Was it Longbridge that made the Metro's?

32/34 DMTR was the carb NOT to have on your Mk2 XR2, 34DFT from the early ones and XR3 was proper iirc.

Mk3 XR FTW, never liked Fiestas.. . . . . . been in one to many a ditch as a passenger lol !

My sisters had Metros, both were rotten POS turds, always started though :D
