Right choice really! I have a re-trim planned for mine but for now I'm happy with them, small fag burn on either seat is about the worst of it.

For me this is the best facelift E30 I've seen (not in the flesh unfortunately), so subtle looking like a spec that BMW have rolled out themselves, the wheels and stance are perfect.
I was wondering what a black Tech I spoiler would look like on a more base model, works really well.
Congratulations on the mag feature! an inspiration for others starting with solid poverty spec models! Good images too!

The insert is red on the rear spoiler (albeit not very well!) although you can't really see it in the pics.

it's not too bad to photograph at night. Just got to be careful with the lighting that you get te positioning and power right, otherwise you get at that looks pink or brighter spots on the car.

I've got starting issues again

Its turning over quickly and with ease, and i can hear the fuel pump priming (albeit it is becoming vocal). Its got a brand new battery in it and a new engine earth. Its a weird one because i had the issue last night, then suddenly instead of turning over quickly, it turned over slowly but fired up after about 2 seconds?

Ideas anybody? Would EWS restrict the spark but allow the fuel pump to prime?

EWS doesnt affect the pump priming

Didn't think so. Oh and it has spark plugs that are only about 2 months old, and the crank sensor is maybe 9 months old?

Is the ICV buzzing? This will rule out a faulty relay

Yes got spare but sounds like you dont need one if ICV is buzzing.

Could it be a knackered duel pump not pulling enough fuel ip?
Ben has that in his old Touring.

Hmm, could be a possibility, but surely it would eventually fire up once it has sufficient fuel after enough cranking?

Wondering if the other immobiliser I've got is the issue? However i know thats wired into the fuel too - its turning off ok and obviously the fuel pump is priming...

Ben would have random starting trouble and random rough running.
His pump was noisy but not as loud as some ive heard.Swapped his pump for a secondhand one which again was fairly noisy and it ran much better.
He ended up buying a new pump and soldering it in,dont think that problem ever came back.

That original immobiliser always had a dodgy key thing didnt it?

That would be awesome! I've got a few things i want to test that I've got from the bentley manual tomorrow after work. I'm not sure when i'll be able to grab it though because of organising lifts home. Might not be until friday tbh.

Worth tracing that old immobiliser out anyway just to eliminate that being involved,dont need it with the EWS now anyway.

If the pump is priming then the immobiliser will be working (if it is wired in to cut the fuel)

I checked for voltage at a coil pack the other day with the ignition on - nothing. Anyway, it somehow fired up at its own accord and i brought it home.

Just been out and cleaned the pins on the two relays on the engine loom (unloader and DME fuel pump right? They were dirty anyway), and done a tug test on all the joints to the c101 - which are all solid. Popped them back in, it started but then idled like a dog and cut out. Did that twice and now its running fine?

The internal contacts on the relay could still be dirty, but anything else to look for now i've found that?

Today i had some mega issues with it. It didn't start yesterday but it has been fine since my last post. I managed to get it running and it cut out twice while driving (never done that before), i changed the relay which provides the power to the coils with one from my dads e34 (you can hear something rattling inside my relay), it got me about 6 miles before cutting out again - but this time it started straight back up. I popped a new relay i bought from bmw when i got home and it seems ok...

Anybody got ANY ideas what i can check to make sure its ok? It was fine running on my dads relay until i literally got to the end of my road which makes me think it isn't the relay.

Is it running any better now? I was having very similar issues on my m20b25 which ended up being fuel pump relay wiring and the injector loom wiring being corroded.

I popped a brand new relay in and its been fine since. I've got another fuel pump to pop in too, mines whining anyway so it could do with replacing.
