Anyone noticed the lack of e34's

they used to be everywhere on the road and you could get corkers for little money on ebay, and plenty of them were for sale.

ALl of a sudden there's nowt but crap on ebay and piston heads has twice the amount of e28s than e34s for sale.

Ive been trying to see if there are many 530i v8 manuals around and it appears there is nowt

cant say ive seen many for a while out and about too.

Anyone else noticed this trend or is it me

they are vanishing rapidly, mainly due to deviants robbing the superior M30 donk and bridging the rest...
very sad because they are far better than the E39 ... :D

from what ive read the e39 is a poor chariot with age,

Ive got the craving for a 530i v8 manual, i remember a year or two ago you would often see a couple of them for little money as the 540is were the one to have.

I can insure a 530i for alot less than a 540i, always fancied a v8

Cheap E34's do seem to have died a very quick death - E32's as well.

I wouldn't bother you have kids and you fill the boot with 24v frag, your car is tank mate 8)

it is a later "P" isn't it?

Seeing an E34 about is nearly as rare as seeing an E30
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Really hard to get a nice one. Especially a sport were its near impossible. :(

The really nice ones that pop up are usually SE's.

These look mint and sold for very good money. They were up for £3750

It is a P yes, I couldnt be arsed swapping bits round TBH, just to have some nicer paintwork which is the only issue, cheap E34's with nice paint dont exist anymore anyway. Better off having diddler perv it up if I wanted it nice :)

Replaced my Dad's 83K E30 320i Touring with a 83K 525i SE E34 this weekend. Seems like a nice car, just need to flog the E30 now :( Sorry to see it go, but he wanted something a bit bigger.

the 3.0 m60 was crap in the e32 i had.. wouldnt pull skin off a rice pudding.

also avoid the 5 speed auto- forever flicking between 4/5 at 70 on the motorway.

IMO- either get a 535i sport or a 540i manual..

the 530 is worse than an auto 320 e30 (and that's saying something!!!)

Amazing what a blocked catalyst will do. As soon as that turd landed I knew it was in trouble. Cut the cats open and gutted them, welded them shut again and it was fine. The drivers side one was totally collapsed. It went really nicely and would easily do 30+ on a steady run. Never had the problem with the box either. Far better than the 3.0 straight six.

E34's are history now. Too many saveable ones were binned 5 or so years ago - it's worth buying a good one now and storing it away somewhere.

I think the E32 730i to which 320Touring and I are alluding did end up on a caaaancil estate! It was as rough as old arseholes - a typical Scottish turd with an underside like the Titanic - but it drove so well. The rear seats and door cards are on mine. A few years ago now - 2006?

It will have been weighed by now. I'm trying to recall why I bought the thing. Iirc, it was 100 quid and I needed some bits of trim etc for mine.

K277EYW was the number.

I have a nice sterling silver 525i sport that I plan to keep for ever as there's not a spot of rust anywhere despite the fact is done 250k, just bought an e36 for winter to keep he sport tidy!

It's ashame the e34's are disappearing as there great cars.

Dont know if there scrapage scheme had anything to do with it. For my 10 cents I think there are less cars from that era around now

I pulled apart an utterly mint 70'000 mile scrappage 525i a couple of years ago - manual 525i 24v on the K in Lazer blue with silver grey leathers. Stripped it to a bare shell and sold every nut and bolt. A guy from London with a Lazer blue 535i Sport came up and bought the complete set of outer panels to restore his with. :D

My old 525i 93 on the L is still going strong. Aparently had a few advisaries on the MOT this year. Corroded fuel lines and a dodgy connection to the numberplate lights. Thatll be the loom then. Said I'd do it for the guy. Just to get back behind the wheell of it again after 8 years apart

Crap pictures as pre digital but it was a nice car. I bought it in '98 as a one company owned 55k car and full dealer history. £12450 was exchanged IIRC

And looking for those shots I've just found these. G876 SPN was my entrance into BMW ownership back in '96. Is it still out there? These would have been taken in about '97, again the e34 was a 2.5i but M20 this time.

The 525 is still storming along at 170K+ miles, only bits left to correct are the aircon in the spring and the front section of the panoramic roof, it looks like oil can be forced into the cable running tubes, not quite got round to giving it a go.

Its underside is totally clean, i was shocked

In a good way :D

I think most of them are over in China now.. :)

E34's do nothing for me.. E36's (after they sorted the build 'issues') are better cars imo. :)
