Feeler on GB for Polycarbonate Window Kit

I Have been in contact with a supplier of poly window kits just trying to gauge interest in a GB.

The more interest the lower the cost.

I'm interested depending on the price. Have you spoken to them yet? Most companies will have some sort of volume based discount structure for this kind of thing already worked out.

Hi Rob,

If you don't get much luck with P4P,
try www.acwmotorsportplastics.co.uk

Ask for Tony. I've been dealing with him for a good few years now and we've become good friends.
Be sure to mention me and he'll help you out as best as he can.

ACW's polycarb/lexan windows arn't heat formed like P4P's (i.e they're flat), but that tends to be reflected in the price.

If you're after a very OEM look by using heat formed sheets (which can be bonded in) to take up the multi axis curves of the rear screen, then I would suggest P4P.
However, if it's a track/race car and you're happy with bolting them in then try ACW.

Here's some of ACW's windows on a couple of E36's I built:
You can see they are flat sheets, and are supplied with M5 cap heads & nylocs plus aluminium rivets.

not sure if this thread is still going but im definitely interested. Just put a couple of plastic windows in a bmw compact rally car and couldnt believe the weight in the original glass!

I'd be up for group buy with acw. Its around what I'd like to spend. Do u know if the rear comes with rubber seals or have to be bonded in?

Yes, my car went thru test the other day.

@mccarthy - just use your old rubbers.

Fitting poly windows made a big difference to how my car feels. Definitely well worth the effort imo.

Need some prices! I would be more interested in the scratch resistant windows TBH but £340+ is 8 legs of venison IMO

Hi, As a new member, recommended to here by a customer. Just like to say I manufacture polycarb windows and supply heated windscreens too, for most BMW's, as a clubman competitor and a windscreen fitter for over 30 years my advice comes free and my kits are'nt dear. Check them out on ebay. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to installing my S.14, and tips are most welcome! Cheers!!

Hi, I've got screens for nearly all BMW's, including the E.30, prices start at £225. As for the polycarb, well you will see I already sell at trade prices, but would be content to offer another 15% if 4 or 5 of you can stitch an order together. I can also mould (thermoform) the rear quarters on the E.30 so that they can be mounted on the original fittings, if required. Thanks for the reply.

Mike can you form the fronts so they can be used with the standard winders? And would they be pretty scratch resistant?

Any window can be formed, I'm currently doing some opening rear quarters for a guy with a Mk2 Escort, and they have to be formed to be able to open correctly. The same holds true with your front windows, in order for them to operate properly on the original winders they need the curve putting in them, Makrolon AB hard coat polycarb will cost a fair bit more (£180), but last much longer.

Thats what id be interested in, no point fitting stuff that gets scratched up in no time.
Can you give an estimated price for formed fronts and fixed rear 1/4's and rear screen

Formed front and formed fixed rears? Flat rear screen, all in h/coat is £360 inclusive. H/coat only comes in clear.
