The 2002 wasn't called Baur (TC). It was just a 2002 Cabriolet.

And I wonder if you know what Baur also build, because I don't think this '02 would end in the top 3 then

The only BMW '02 or 3-series Baur for me is the 2002, by far the prettiest.

Like most Baurs, it suffered from rust badly, having all the bad points of the saloon, but also had the built-in rot area caused by roof water drainage entering the rear bodywork and then being allowed to find its way internally to the sill drainage points. What were Baur thinking of? Many Baurs literally broke in half from terminal rot!

When my old 2002 was new, it cost more than the Jaguar V12 E type convertible!

I often see a red E36 Baur in Koln, very odd looking car.

@Z3I: they don't rust any faster compared to any other BMW of that time. Only thing is that they weren't scrapped as fast as a normal 3-series.

If you ever had a close look at one, you would see that the water goes outside of the body at the rear. The one and only mistake made, was that they drilled 2 holes in the rear part and bolt the frame on top, without any anti-rust.

And about the 02/3-series build by Baur, I think this is the best looking:


Just take a look at this list, and tell me if you knew that Baur also build these cars.

i've walked along there many times from Willesden tube station, for medical trials at the old hospital, with a strong smell of cooking digestives in the air

Not a Baur I know, but i see this every time i visit Greece.
Not concourse but suprisingly rust free. on the surface of it it, and it's in
