Wife took car to shops, locked it, went to open it but could only open it from the boot. Opened all doors apart from the drivers door.

Drivers side door stayed locked and is deadlocked, how the hell do i open it

cheers

There's no deadlock motor in the driver's door, and the passenger door opened, so the deadlock switch is off.
Sounds like you have a mechanical failure with the mechanism.
First thing to do is remove the driver's seat, to get some room. Just five 17mm nuts/bolts. Next remove the doorcard and have a look in there.
Access to the mechanism is poor, but can be improved by unbolting the window glass lower rear guide and swinging it up and forwards.
