hi all my diff needs changing and i was thinking of not doing a direct change but putting something else in that would drop the rpm a bit the car is auto with a m40 all else is good i did ask the qustion before but got side tracked on other stuff sorry all info most welcome o and what cars i can robb the diff from

Your car probably has either a 4.4 or 4.25 which are fitted to allow it to drag it's sorry arse from a standing start without making a fool of it's self winkeye

You could drop to a 4.1 which would reduce your top end revs slightly or down to 3.91 but that would be the limit unless you start facing down a hill. An open diff of these ratios can be found in the for sale section for between £20 and £50 usualy.
