Started off today well. Went to BMW and put in another order for loads of gaskets and nuts and bolts etc to put in the engine for when it goes back in.
Also orderd a Z3 short shifter along with the other bits needed.
Was feeling pretty good so went back to the garage to get stuck into the car. Ive been working every day for the last 3 weeks until this weekend so didnt have a chance to go near the car until now.
Jacked up rear of car so I could undo the prop bolts from the diff so I could then turn it to get to the top bolt on the front.
Sprayed some WD40 on them but no joy. Pulled like a bastard and then the friggin spanner slipped off and hit me full whack in the eye.
Couldnt see for a few minutes and got a lift to A&E to get it checked out. Thankfully there doesnt appear to be any major damage but I look like Ive been in a fight and I cant see properly. GRRRR Feel like a right prick now as thats another day wasted and I could have got so much done!

Here's a pic of the eye which has swollen up more since.

I know what that feels like !!!! I learnt a valuable lesson, rather push than pull and if it slips all you loose is a bit of skin and not your sight. Hope it gets well soon.

nasty!

i nearly kebabed my eye when removing the lights on a 205 a while ago. you have to hook a flat bladed screwdriver though a loop on the end of a spring and pull upwards... unsuprisingly it slipped and my arm swung upwards and a with lucky flinch moved my head. instead of getting me eye i put a 7mm screwriver though my lip and into my gum!!!

The worst time i got hit on the eye was when i was playing Squash with a mate, he drew his racket back to hit the ball and made contact with my face 8O

fucked my whole head up and couldnt see out of that eye for like 6 hours!

my worst one working on my car was when the jack collapsed when i was under it, my head was squashed between the floor and the ground, the only thing that saved me was i had put the removed wheel under the car just in case, i had in imprint of the road on the side of my head for ages, but i learned the hard way never to jack up your car on a slope :D

Nasty pic! Those pics remind me of the pain on my eye a year ago. My avatar reminds me of where i have been.

Be careful mofos!

My worst? not working on a car but at work a piece of metal 2mm by 3mm going straight through my right eye. Ruined my lense and a whole word of pain id love to forget
