So I was in grid lock traffic stuck between about 23 million trucks that clog our roads and cause traffic jams because they are sooo Friggen slow and brake down constantly..

I hate them.

Anyway one of these piece of shit trucks happened to be new and shiny and I couldnt help but take this pic.

Still hate trucks though.

Pretty sure they're diesel- the 60's and 70's Macks were so I'm guessing the Kenworths and Peterbilts were also 8)

When in Nigeria earlier this year I was amazed by the amount of proper yank trucks. I reckon at least half of the trucks are long nose big yank turds, Macks being the most popular.
Most being imported into Africa when they were fit for the scrapyard in the US. There are lots of later model ones as well but the old turds are the coolest ! The best bit is that they often still have the US sign writing on them !

On the subject of old turds, there was the '84 318i 2 door that turned up when we ordered a cab ! 8O It was hanging with a dead temp and fuel gauge but did not miss a beat as we crawled for hours through Lagos .

The driver was well impressed when I could tell him which bits were fooked by the sound of the different thumps/clunks and bangs ! :) There were lots of thumps / clunks and bangs !

The Nigerian 'MOT' is actually quite strict but like everything in Africa, nothing is a problem if you cross the right palms.

what sort of weight can the yank wagons pull? its about 20 ton isn't for our stuff. I know certainly the 8 wheel tippers at work can haul about 20 ton on the limit i think or is it 15?

Took this pic of a Mack pulling six tankers on the way to Darwin NT spoke to the driver who told me no problem pulling the load but when the last trailers start to weave the only way to sort it is to put his foot to the floor .
