I have searched and searched, but now need assistance if anyone can please help.
The problem I'm having is defining what parts that are not interchangeable with the E36 to E30.
E30 Spec: G reg 1989 320i SE M20
E36 Spec: M reg 1995 325i M50
I have both of the vehicles in full, I am only now doing the conversion as the M20 spat a conrod out the block when the sump gasket failed on a journey.
I have bought in full a 95 E36 325i (with cruise control
) with tax and test in full working order (steering rack feels intemittent) for £275. Steal! The reason I have started a thread early on is because there is some speculations as what fits what and what doesn't.
List of the parts I know I still need:
E34 525i Sump.
E34 525i oil pump pick up pipe
E34 525i sump gasket
E34 525i dipstick
E28 M5 engine mounts
Golf mk II Servo
E30 prop shaft centre bearing and housing
I only would like to know the "Do's" and "Dont's" on this sort of transformation and what is useable even if its not to the full potential?
This would include the likes of the gearbox, diff, lighten an balance the flywheel, custom ex manifold or ideas on the intake?
Many thanks in advance, I will be keeping a photo/video log of the complete conversion so I will post it complete when finished and a few bits inbetween.
(I am also doing the 4>5 Lug conversion so I know I need the e36 M3 control arms, is there anything else involved thats a must for this conversion?)
