Various Y plate 320i and 323i cars during January/February 1983 before they were launched. My old man worked for BMW GB and brought an early one home on a few occasions to put miles on the clock to run the engines in for 1000 miles. The idea was to leave Bracknell at 6pm in darkness and be back in the morning early enough to avoid rush hour.

My car was bought brand new by my mother from Central BMW (B'Ham) in August 1988. It was a standard 2 dr. 320i automatic in Delphin Grey metallic. I took it over in May 2006, when she was finally persuaded to buy a golf by my sister  It had covered 62,485 miles at the time. I've thoroughly enjoyed it ever since, carried out a few improvements over the years and it has now covered 88,900 miles.

Thanks AH, still love it, as the years go by it still stands out in a sea of euroboxes, but my daily driver is a modern which is reliable, economical, quicker but boring!!!

I learned to drive in my dads e reg zinnobar 320i 4 door - I remember it gleaming, chrome shining away & totally loved it. Smoothing out my driving style I stalled the damn thing coming out of a t junction with a truck bearing down on me so turned it over dropped the clutch and snaked off down the road - I think it took a few years off my dads life.

I did a check a year or so back and sadly no longer in existence.

My sport was 12 year old before I could afford it. I always wanted one since my brother in law bought one at a year old, which was standard with no extras and no sunroof, I think the plate was H652 ETM, is it still alive?
