there are two motors - the one in the centre of the car (rather than on the right as you look at it from the boot) operates the hood cover, and yes it locks it down as well.

You can jam things in under the square flip-up plastic cover from the side to stop the main cover flying up, but that's a bit naff

when I had one, I didn't find any way of locking mine down, but I think the mech on mine was broken, not the motor.

If the mech is ok, you should be able to wind the cover shut by hand... if the 'carpet' is still in place covering the motor, it might be easier to remove this first, but there is a small hole in the 'carpet' which allows you to wind the motor by hand.

The hood locks down with the action of two 'claws' at each side; the motor winds a central point which draws in cable enough to operate the 'claws' - you should be able to do this manually, but I'm not sure as the manual aspects are there to allow you to open the cover and get the hood UP if the motors fail, and obviously when the hood is up the cover is held down anyway.

I know of nothing that you can buy that will lock the cover down with the hood down.

good luck :D

As orangecurry says there are two motors. The flap motor in the middle can be operated manualy with an allen key but have you checked the cables to the hooks. This motor cannot be repaired cheaply as it is usualy the gears that have stripped. the hood motor has a repair kit for about Ԛ£80 FROM GERMANY, try jASON on 07745 836 879 who sold me a flap motor for reasonable mone and who knows everything about cabs

mine was the same i found the arm connected to the flap motor was bent
it is the one connected to the flap itself with a ball on the end and is about 4inches long it was bent away from the small arm where it drops into a slot i took it out straightened it,put it back and operated the roof ....the arm turned ...locked into the slot which in turn turns with it and pulls the 2 cables which eventually pull the 2 claws that lock the deck down hope this helps

The motor on the right operates the roof via the thick bars,
the motor in the middle operates the flap via a lever and two bowden cables,

the first thing that happens is that the middle motor raises the flap then the other motor operates the roof
