Blinking 'eck! That's healthy power and stupid torque! Nice one!
It's good but not even close to the 'pina version
Mine made 220bhp and 238lb.ft in standard trim apart from the 10:1 compression (1mm skim) and M3 exhaust. That's with a LPG blowback catflap valve in there tooleeparkes wrote:Im sure it 10. something. standard M30 compression is turbo territory, Gareths made 239lb ft iirc.Jhonno wrote:Hmm.. What comp ratio? Std is 221lbft, that's 64lbft (29%!) increase! Still seems a lot, however could be the headwork/cam/comp increase working together. Gareth got quite a high torque figure with his increased comp M30 iirc.
Rav, yes its by the train station.

the shoes on that remind me of what i have lined up for the e24

I have at times thought about improving the e24's performance, but its got a slush box and i dont think its worth it even though they do respond well to intake mods.
im most impressed with the car lee. and anchor to be proud of

We don't need to remind ourselves, all day, everyday that WE
have better engines.

What sort of fuel economy can you get out of a 335i, if driven gently?
I had an E34 535iSE manual, that would return about 20mpg on local journeys, but about 30mpg on long journeys, which was quite impressive, I thought, for such a big engine.

Ive checked a couple of times this past couple of weeks and with £10 fuel @ £1.30 i get just under 40 miles (38-39) which is around 23mpg. Thats round town too and i dont hang about either.
I havent really been on a run yet.

Not too bad, considering the performance available.
It should, in theory, be pretty good for long motorway runs as you'll be able to waft along in 5th effortlessly.

Mate of mine knocked one up on an E36 1.9 16v, two back to back dyno runs gave over 10hp difference with and without.

A stub-stack may be beneficial, but with a huge ram-air intake like above, you'd have to richen up the mixture alot, I'd imagine, and it probably only works at high speed so for track use only.
