i mean honestly if you had that car if some one offered you £500 you would tell them to f*** off from private buyer
Not if to you the car is just an old car! Why do you think so many mint cars got weighed in for the scrappage scheme that were worth way more than the 2k or 2.5k that offered. I heard of one owners iS's, motorsport cabs etce etc going on that.
Ah yes true but it is not just an old car to us

You know that, i know that but she don't. So long as both parties are happy that's all that matters. In the past i've bought an iS for £80 (albeit very tatty) and been given a rust free E21 316 as the owners wife wanted a bigger and newer car, E21 was going to the scrappie otherwise.
To most old cars like these are worthless scrap. Anyone who know's different can only dream of finding such a bargain.

Had a word last night, asked her what sort of money she want's first and she said around the £1500 mark so I yold her I was looking at closer to £1000 and banged on about the fact that it'll go to a good home, she said she's not greedy and happy to meet in the middle. I'll post a photo when i get back from work to see what you guys think. the only thing I don't like is the bbs are 14", I'll soon add an inch to them after purchase, she said she's in no rush to get rid of it so i'll be playing the waiting game on this one. it truly is immaculate underneath, sills, arches, jacking points, scuttles etc are all completely rot free, one little ding in the bonnet from a conker, nothing a dent bloke can't see to though.
And it made me crack up about her being dodgy with dodgy paperwork.
I guess you can never trust anyone, not even a sweet old white haired lady.

Steelies were standard on iS's, they even had their own unique wheel trim.

I love the way avarice is at work, now.
The Op was happy to part with £3500 bags, and now is haggling to get down to £1000. is that a 250% price drop?? It's still a steal at £1500 IMO, so pay the lady and get some pics up, mate.

She's not actually sold it to the Op, yet. I think he's got first dibs, but did say he'd get some pics at the weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing it - along with the tin of custard...!

What's the problem with buying the car for £1250 and selling it for at least double?
It's EXACTLY what everyone on here with a brain would do.

Barn find custard thread springs to mind...
Two headblenders, couple of bags of MC Hammer, 5 litres of FFF, a 48ft bastard, a box of jumped-up custard and some soggy chimps
