Yep, take your time, is this your first M3/LHD??
I remember when I first picked mine up, driving it home, I was suffering from a heavy cold, driving an unfamiliar car, LHD, dogleg box, in the dark on unfamiliar roads in rush hour!! Was a bit of a nightmare really, hardest part I found was motorway driving in the dark, and changing lanes, was a little harder to judge where the cars coming from behind were, and looking over your shoulder out the rear window didn't help due to the higher bootlid! Wasn't really hard, just took a little more time before changing lanes than normal, simple answer to this though is to get in the fast lane and stay there!

Yep, first E30, and first LHD.
It will be dark, the roads will be unfimiliar (untill the M25!!) but I'm not too concerned. I'd be taking it easy anyway- the car has done less than 500 miles in 5 years so I'd better not push it too hard.
I'm guessing I won't be getting too much sleep tonight!!
Where's the brandy...

Well while you're failing to sleep, you can source a proper rear spoiler!
Hope its a good un! And go with 16" bbs, unless you hate cleaning, then go for the alpinas

That's funny that as everyone says about hitting the door, and I haven't done it once! I have however totally got muddled up wondering what gear I'm in and where to go next, when having a mad moment!!

only messed about in a LHD rally car on a small dirt circuit. was a seat ibiza (fiat panda) that had a tuned pinto motor in it. was in portugal while on holiday and kept making an arse of my self as coming into corners i always over shot because i was using the worng hand to reach for the gears

You wont have a problem with the LHD nor the dogleg, try not to think about it too much and youl be fine. I didnt have a problem at all driving the M3. Its all in the mind.

Good luck with the M3 , you'll love it ! I'm on my 5th since 1991 and all I can say is LHD is not a problem , where I live it helps with the narrow country lanes as I can see the verge and get the car right over to the left when cars come towards me .
I've let a few people drive mine over the years and they all struggle with the gearbox and not the LHD , also you'll be suprised at the amount of interest they generate for an old car .
Steve .

Well here is a pic taken from the storage company's website. Please overlook the superficial things such as wheels, windows and spoiler!Jimbob wrote:You mean you've got some pics but gonna leave us in the dark
With 75k on the clock, FSH, and two owners from new it'll make a good car!
Just you wait and see!!

Are the tinted windows going aswell?
Spoiler needs to be smashed into pieces or sold solely to a corsa owner.
Wheels.....mmm.......they arent the worst things ive ever seen, would look quite good if painted black.

Hmmm... that might well keep me out of trouble till I get my BBS RS's. I'll give that some serious thought.M5pilot wrote:Wheels.....mmm.......they arent the worst things ive ever seen, would look quite good if painted black.
The windows will be going, I think. The spoiler will be gone by thursday. The storage company kept the original and are gonna let me pinch it! Lovely jubbly!

Looks mean as fook, the paintwork is great and in my view, the dark windows help compliment this.
As for the Evo spoiler, ..... if you get my drift

I did intend sorting the windows, but you are right in what you say. I think just changing the spoiler and (to a lesser extent) the wheels will make them look better. Only time will tell...
Black the wheels?

wheels are mising something, and the wing needs to come off
tints are ok with me , but then she looks riced.
clear black on the alloys might give them the depth it needs

Looks like a nice car but if I bought it the spoiler would be attacked with a big hammer and the tints would be replaced with a light smoke. Dark smoke just reminds me of chav mobiles.
The wheels could look nice in a charcoal colour.

Had another look at those wheels, they arent that bad at all. They aint the best things in the world but they arent the worst either.
If you really hate them swap them for my 15" bbs's. I will paint them black, should look great with a black car!

Not till this evening I'm afraid. About 6.30. So far I've had a pretty unconstructive day at work!
