Hello,

I've been noticing that my 320 Tourer doesn't like starting when warm but always starts first turn when cold so I decided to replace the blue 2 pin temp sensor that is used by the ECU.
I've had a look and the access looks a bit restricted. Access for a socket is restricted by a plastic rail and the sensor is too recessed to reach with a spanner, without risking rounding the corners of the sensor.

Any ideas from someone who has done this on how best to do it fastest.

Also, do I just need to open the reservoir filler cap to depressurise or should I drain some coolant before removing the old sensor?

Thanks for any advice you can give,

Easiest way to change your cold start sensor is to also remove your coolant temp guage sensor ( brown sensor right next to it ) . You'll get onto it with an open ended spanner easy enough . They are not tight so you shouldnt round it . I would open the coolant bottle to depressurise the system .

Then put it straighr back on to minimize coolant leakage. If no air goes in, then very little coolant will leak out.
