Is there any good reason for not removing the fan shroud, other than potentially losing fingers? I have a non oem radiator & the shroud doesn't fit particularly well. I'd rather remove it than have it fall off.

My engine is falling off its mounts atm so I removed mine to allow the fan to move at all! not had any heating problems yet and that's in london traffic too.

Removing the fan shroud will considerably reduce the effect of the cooling fan. Removing the engine udershield will reduce the effectiveness of the cooling system when moving.
