Hi all as above really, i am getting ready to fit my m50 manifold but don't have an icv, is the m52 one suitable or is it different? also will one off a 318is or 325 fit?

I think they are different from what I can remember but I just went straight to M50 and never ran my car on the M52 manifold

I beleive m52 and m50 icv's are interchangeable

They are indeed interchangeable. You can get different idle speeds from different ICV's though

Speaking of idle speeds, is there any way of raising it without a remap??

i put my spare m50 icv on my 52 with no ill affect. idle speed didnt even change which is a plus 
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better

The ecu is adaptive enough to work with any 3wire bosch IAC.
