I have dropped my m52 lump in, but I dont know what to do with this:

is it a fuel filter/return? And what do I connect it to?
(I know I have 2 power steering bottles at present -top one will be removed!!)

Didn't include it on mine as far as I know it's not needed, it's something to do with providing a vacuum I think for the solenoid on the backbox... or at least that's what it looked like when I stripped mine.

I have removed that bit you speak of...... This bit was std on my L reg e30 316 touring. Its fixed via jubilee clip to the turret!

Looks like the canister related to emmisions on lambda equipped cars.
Is there a 2 pin mini timer connector attached to it as well?


If so,you can bin it and re route the fuel line

Is it the carbon canister, if so bin it.

The car had a lambda sensor - dont know whether it has a timer??? Just fuel pipes going in/out the top

By mini timer,I'm referring to the 2 wire electrical connector (identical to a fuel injector connector)

There are 2 fuel lines(supply and return and the 3rd is a vent pipe.

You'll need to identify which one is which

Supply goes to fuel rail
Return comes from the FPR
The vent pipe goes into a hole in the reinforcing beside the strut tower.You may need to extend the hose slightly(fit a longer bit)
