Does anyone know of a list of heights of common engine mounts used on standard E30's and with popular engine conversions?

It's for my m60 conversion, the e30.de mounting arms are designed for use with the 540i mounts, but they are quite pricy. I was just wondering if there was an alternative within a few mm. M50 maybe?

For M50 and S50 conversion they often use E28 535 engine mounts. Those are 63.5 mm high.

I'm not sure of that eitherleeparkes wrote:How tall are the 540i mounts?
The ones on the car I took the engine from were destroyed beyond recognition. There was nothing really holding the engine in. Quite scary really.

Everything is pricy, when you swap to a m60 ;)
The 540i mounts are 65mm tall, but after a few thousand kilometers the heigt reduces to about 60mm.

Thanks for the link Mars. Very useful.
No sense in using the oil filled m60 mounts if there is a cheaper alternative thats up to the job!

I will buy the polyuerthane motor mounts from revshift, because the clearance between the oil pan and the steering shrinks again, although I have now 10mm spacers installed.
First I tried 5mm spacers, but after 5000km the oilpan hits my steering.

These ones?

I was looking at them too. They are talking about changing their one year warranty to liftime.

Yes these ones, because they will never shrink again.

Which gearbox mounts did you use? E30 or E34? Are you using a 5 speed or 6 speed?

I used the 5speed gearbox with e30 gearbox mounts. Fits perfectly.

Thanks. In that case I might get the revshift E30 gearbox mounts also.

This would be better. But I'm a bit scared that those mounts are too hard, because now it's perfect with the hydro- and e30 mounts.
