Just been out, and it seems the car has gone in to limp mode, wont go past 5000 ish,
I havnt had it on the diagnostic yet but from experience,
it'll either be the cam or the crank sensor....AGAIN!!
so question...
I'v got spare cam and crank sensors here,
if i plugged them in would it get it's self out of limp mode? (if they are the problem)
or
do the codes need to be cleared in order for it to run out of limp mode?

whenever I have changed a cam or crank sensor in the past it has cured the problem and warp drive was restored without any code clearing etc

Cool, i'll swap them both over tomorrw, and see if that cures it,
If one of them has gone, i'll be looking in to the warranty of them
and see if I do anything with BMW....?
Probably tell me to fak off tho,
Tossers

Well, looks like the speedo not working wasnt a red herring after all,
Got under the back of the car and the wires to the diff sensor just fell apart in me hand,
So I cut it right back, stuck some fresh wire on...... Hey presto
Job done

nice job, i'll remember that for when it's my turn
M52 ecu needs a speed input from the dash cluster so if the speedo dies it goes into limp mode
