has anyone ever seen or heard of an m30 fitted to an e36?
before you reckon i am actually fitting it to an e36 it is actually intended to fit in a rwd converted 95 escort with a e36 front end and subframe setup.
from visually sizing it up it looks like the front mount sump will cause the most obstruction
thanks in advance for any info

This will be your main problem, iirc some early M30's had the sump bowl at the rear of the engine.from visually sizing it up it looks like the front mount sump will cause the most obstruction
Id double check you can shut the bonnet with it in too.

thats great info, that would nearly solve all my problems as then i could put the engine good and far back into the bulkhead where i want it and also it will be giving more bonnet clearance at the front. the height issue shouldnt be too much of a concern as the escort wings are quiet high and the bonnet is at a steeper slope than an e36.
would earlier versions of these engines be in e28's, shark nose 6 series, or the first model 7 series?
