Needed a car so as you do i won this on ebay, was only in newcastle so only a 45 min drive away.

Has loads of documented history, however spend about 10 year in Banff and 4-5 year in Inverness, the bodywork can confirm this

However it was a car with 7 month tax and test for £441.09

to put it through the last mot someone obviously had too much money, it needed new brake lines all round, new brake hoses, new pads and new tyres

Was supprised to find it had sports seats and a full closure bmw alarm system, gearknob fell off so ive replaced it with a brand new wooden e30 one ive had sat in a cupboard other than wash it and hoover it out this is how it looks.

it kangaroos like foook in 1st if you try to do a bit of diffin or hoof it but the airintake hose is very badly split (i can fit my fist in it  ) so i put it down to that

my e30 deffintly drove alot better like.

Nice winter turd though.

Quite a high price paid for such a rusty one, i just let my compact go for £200 very clean body work only fault was a hole in the drivers bolster and in major need of a service.

I could have got more for it but i sold it to a friend cheap because he is doing some paint work on my Sport Touring.

I paid £400 for it with 12 months tax & MOT

For £400 surely you could have got one without the rust, loads of cheap compacts around at the moment

I did offer it on here for scrap value :(

Given that it's worth £250 driven on the scales, one with 7 months of use is worth £150 more. You can't go wrong.

That wing is spectacular though. :D

Loads of cheap ones around but like most cheap cars, which are generally owned by tight fisted vermin, they usually need tyres/breaks/bushes/balljoints , a service etc etc.
Alexs' turd looks a bit Scottish/ropey but with 7 months test and £140 of tax , he could have done much worse.

The kangarpooing will be the air intake boot which may also be compounded by dodgy engine mounts :(

316 boots are different to 318 ones so be sure to stick the right one in your toolbox at the scrappies :)

7 Months Tax is £125 worth so it owes you £315 as you'd have had to tax whatever you bought.

E36 Sports seats are nice to have 8)

Not a bad buy really - get some black smoothrite on the rusty bits if you're bothered

Chances are, it'll go through the next MOT as well if it's had brakes pipes etc.

The one i just sold to start with, i got it from a bloke on retro rides if its a winter turd then fair play but i hate rust with a passion but at least you can slide it around in the snow with out being worried about pranging it :D

sports seats werent standard in the 316, but you could get a 'sport' option which included stuff like the half coloured bumpers, foglights and sports seats for a lot less than those individual options would have been.

i think the 318ti had sports seats as standard?

even the standard e36 seats have a more sporty look than the standard e30 comfort seats though

ive tried to do some "diffin" but it just throws you backwards and forwards with the split intake, unless you drop the clutch over 5000rpm that seems to keep it going winkeye

well lets put it this way there not rare the three i spoke about are all bog basic 316i's and there was no mention on the print out from BMW about them being an extra

although the sports pack does ring true as mine had half body colour bumpers and fogs, so much win

Compacts are great little turds to use as a daily sh1tter. E30s are now of an age that everyday use, especially in winter = major hands on maintenance and expenditure to keep up to scratch. Why bother , buy a £500 compact and spend all your extra spare time barebacking :)
