Say hello to the middle manager (i must be doing really well) / bruv machine of the future.
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/defau ... ryId=24530
My opening thoughts.
Interior
I think the interior looks a damn sight better than E9* at least the controls nicely place primary important to driver and it does follw looking like New 5/6/7 Series presumably for economies of scale (saving costs).
I think the interior design on the E30 is nicest of all though the materials used in the E30 will not be as good as new BMWs. How much of that is down to materials / age i do not know. I like the instrument cluster of the E46 dials though love the E30 dash well the really mint cars anyway.
Exterior
Side from mirror to rear looks like E46 Saloon
Rear looks like E90 Saloon
Front reminds me a little of 5 Series and squinted version of one of their concept cars.
Sure it will sell well.
So what do you think?

BMW have obviously played it safe with the styling as it is their core product. Looks like a facelifted E90.
The interior is much like the new F20 1 series which is a good thing as they have a higher quality feel than the out going models.
Interesting that they will be offering four wheel drive models in the UK finally. Europe has had four wheel drive E46's and E9x's where we have missed out.

Looks similar to an F10 on the rear. All new bmw's are F series cars, they ran out of E numbers lol

What is a E95 meant to be or a E1 or a E48 meant to be?

looks orite...
how did they manage this.
All 3-series engines are now turbocharged, and the only petrol engines available are the 241bhp turbocharged ....four-pot....... in the 328i and the 302bhp turbocharged inline six of the 335i.
take it theres no 318i then

I quite like it and I usually hate new cars. The blue 335 looks good, nice and aggressive

kids these days have very little to aspire to....... except silly priced supercars that lets face it none of us will ever own, so they get to grow up aspiring to another middle manager rep car with steel wheels attepting to copy the marketing focussed cleverly lit shots we see above...... i am glad my E30 lives in a very dry country!!!

i got to say i hate the front bonnet line.
I do like the way the new compartments within the interior open smoothly and softly though

Looks quite nice.
A good update on the E90 3 series. But really that is probably all that we should have expected. Will be nice to see what the M division do to it...

I was hating that until i got to the 335i and thought that looks like it could be a grower. Do like the look of the interior though.

I dunno, I prefer the e91 based on the pics.. Would have to see one in the flesh, but the bonnet / wing mirror / scuttle area reminds me of a volvo and is bloody awful.
i'm guessing it's to blend in a higher bonnet height, to score more e-ncap points..

Quite irrelevant to me how good it is until its 10+ Years old and I can pick one up for £1500

e30topless said : Proper BMW's have 4 headlights, last of the run was the E30 and E34/E32 anything after that is just complete shite
