Test fitted the manifold for the first time and fits perfectly. One of the support lugs on the water pipe is quite close and i will remove this as it is not needed.

Amazing
If you need any silicone joiners etc for the charger pipe work, coolant pipes etc let me know!

Will do. I have most of the coolant ones, but will need the charge cooler ones.rix313 wrote:Amazing![]()

Toby, the car will be very fast and very drivable! Ive always wanted to drive a turbo charged S14, i think a 2.3l with 300bhp in a light shell with the torque of a turbo will be pretty amazing! Im very keen for you to see this project through so i can get a few pax laps

You would be more than welcome in the passenger seat, but will be 2.4l and potentially 450+ BHP in about 1050kgDemlotcrew wrote:Toby, the car will be very fast and very drivable! When the car had the 240 NA it's power to weight was the same as the E46 M3, so almost twice the power and a 100kg lighter it should be quicker than at GT3 RS

Wow! 450+ pretty powerful then.
I just don't now what to do with my engine, its loosing compression (5-7psi) after every year of track work and i think this is the last lear i will be able to run it and still have some fun, I'm seriously tempted to go down the turbo route, just easy big power!

You got some beefy some wider than standard rear wheels for a lil extra grip?
Gonna burn through tyres like a mofo

Sounds like the engine needs a freshening up. The full MS/Grp A was just to expensive and fixed power. The turbo can be flexible on power and lesser rev's as these rods are solid up to 7800 rpm and i will probably max out at 7000.Demlotcrew wrote:Wow! 450+ pretty powerful then.

Latest news. The manifold has returned from Jon. I have used a modified engine mount to reduce movement and it about 5mm lower than standard. The manifold just touches the leg, so will need to make a little modification to the leg for clearance. The angle of the turbo bracket also needs a little change of direction as it is facing the strut tower. Or change the lean angle too towards the cam cover.

Additional news. I have had to have the rear caliper brackets machined twice to make sure the pads cover as much of the disc as possible , as they were a long way fron the centre of the discs.
The front brakes are on with a small 3mm spacer on the inside face of the bell so they clear the steering joint. Also the caliper adapter is almost ready. The final test piece is being machined. I have found a great machine shop and on Saturday was up to his 3 times while i test fitted. measured, then he would machine of the area not required. Should hopefully have these back tomorrow.
They have also made a bracket for the dash support that will also be the place for the brake bias adjust and space for other things if required.

Also fitted new wheel studs from Ryan. However when removing one of the old bent ones it just spun around in the hole, so i have had to remove the driveshaft and hub to get it drilled out - bugger cost me my bearing to on removal.

Thanks guys, was up at the dyno shop yesterday just finalizing the fuel tank and swirl pot details so I can have this made. The tank cost is less than £300 for a FIA spec, 11 gallon tank that fits in the wheel wheel, foam baffled and a catchment tank on the underside.
I was also going over the functionality of the Pectel 6 ECU i will be getting and i has every option possible, far more than i will be using, thats for sure. I think it will take me a while to go through it all and work out what i will need and not need. For example if i run 2 fans on the rad(i'm not however) i can set the required temp setting for one to come on at one heat and a second at a higher temp. This is the same for all warning settings too. Well it should be at the price too!
Also with the mapping it can adjust the fuelling, timing and boost at all stages, so will take quite a while to set up, but that will be next year before the car is finally back on the road. Fingers crossed.

Been limited with spare time, but have managed to get the following done.
The front calipers are now ready and just need to get them painted.
The engine will be distributor less, so have gone with Steve's cam sensor setup on the inlet side.
The section bolted to the cam sprocket needs a little metal removing to fit in flush. There is an additional hole, which the S38 cam sprocket must have a locating pin, so will be lined up with this.

My fuel tank turned up today, along with the swirl pot. This was made to my drawing details.

I'm really pleased with the welds. The tank is FIA approved, foam baffled, with a sender unit, breather, return and feed lines.
There is a sump 50mm deep and 12mm outlet. This outlet will feed a pump to the swirl pot and then have a 2 pump system to feed the engine.

I also think I have found a viable alternative for the sensor warning feeds for oil pressure and all others. I planned to get a digital dash, but these are not cheap. This option will have one large LCD with the speed reading, then 2 screens with 4 readings per screen.
This is still in its early stages, but once I have spoken with the guy doing my wiring then I can move forward with it.
