The subframe is for the m535i in the background which is a track car (progress on other projects has been made at the expense of the e30 8O ) but you are right, there would be no need for them on the e30, however it will be getting a powder coated axle but with OEM bushes you will be glad to know :)

Quick update... got some more lovelys from Cotswolds...

New 'straight' bumper brackets unlike the '# as a 9 bob note' old ones:

and some lovely spangly new kidneys that I didn't have to cut someone up for!

I am off out to see a friends new e-type convertible (drewl!) tomorrow. If I can pull myself away from humping it, I might get to the workshop to fit these and the bumper with the bag of nice new fixings I got from Cotswolds too! :)

Quick update again:

Bumper is finally on! After getting the new bits from Cotswolds it fit like a dream and you can see why when you look at the old brackets vs new brackets (new above old below):

HOW bent were they! EEP No wonder it needed a new front slam panel!

With that I set up putting her on as well as my lovely new kidneys!

Just need to find the bloody front spliter now - I cleaned it up when I first took the car apart and haven't seen it since! I think the clutter pixies has taken it away! Either that or its a hint to get a Jimmy Hill... who knows!

Well - once again little progress other than a move around in the workshop as the e28 have taken some priority for once! however, the one small addition is the new mountings for the front splitter arrived and I found the splitter itself after the clutter pixies hid it....

more expensive BMW parts :-/ BUT, it really is nice working with the correct new, clean fixings! Makes putting parts on a genuine pleasure!

So the front end is nearly complete...

Or so I thought. As the project has evolved it has slowly taken on a more serious 'restoration' theme than rebuild. AS such, the cleaned front splitter with a slight crack in it now looks RUBBISH up close compared to the rest of it... so a new one has been ordered from BMW at the pricey sun of £90... eep! More to come soon!

In the mean time this is what we have been up to....

Scratching head for a bit...

Next job is to rebuild the gearbox and start working the engine over for more drift action summer 2012! :)
